Enugu: EFCC Commences Probe Of Chime’s Administration
Featured, Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Thursday, July 30th, 2015By Ignatius Okpara, Enugu – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has begun investigation of alleged financial impropriety levelled against the administration of the Immediate past governor of Enugu state, Barrister Sullivan Chime, by some citizens of the area.
A Source at the commission, who craved anonymity revealed on Thursday, that the anti-graft agency’s probe was in response to several petitions written to it by some indigenes of Enugu State, over the financial dealings of the Chime’s led government for eight years.
AFRICAN EXAMINER recalled that a onetime Commissioner for Youth and Sports as well as National Auditor of the People’s Democratic party PDP, Barrister Ray Nnaji, is one of those that petitioned EFCC on the allegation.
However, there are strong indication that the ex-Enugu chief executive, might soon be invited for questioning.
Our Correspondent gathered that the chief of Staff to Chime, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, was recently invited by the agency for interrogation.
