Enugu APC Takes Campaign To Tertiary Institutions, To Open Liaison Offices In Schools

IGNATIUS OKPARA, Enugu – The Enugu state chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC has taken its campaign train to students hostels, faculties, and departments of Enugu state University of Science and Technology, ESUT, as well as other tertiary institutions in the state.

To this end, the opposition party said it has concluded plans to open liaison offices in all the said institutions within the next few days.

Barr. Okey Ezea, the Enugu state governorship candidate of APC, disclosed this while addressing the party faithful and scores of ESUT students during their campaign rally at the university town, Agbani, in Nkanu West council area of the state.

He said as future leaders of tomorrow, there was need for the undergraduates to be part of the wind of change currently blowing across the nation.

Ezea, regretted that as a result of bad leadership of the ruling peoples Democratic party, PDP, students of ESUT and their parents, since inception, had continued to suffer perpetual untold hardship, occasioned by outrageous fees.

He promised that if voted into power, his administration would accord the education and health sectors top priorities, adding that the present high fees payable in ESUT and other state owned institutions would be drastically slashed down.

The gubernatorial hopeful however, used the event to urge those that are yet to pick- up their INEC permanent voters cards PVCs to do so, ahead of the forthcoming general polls, as it remains their only power to effect the much needed change in the state and Nigeria at large.

Also addressing the mammoth crowd, Enugu east senatorial candidate of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, had called on the people of the area, including the students, to embrace the opposition party, as it remains the only hope for the common man in Nigeria, saying the PDP has failed the nation woefully in all ramifications.

Said Nwoye: “PDP has failed Nigeria in the last 16 years, and that is why we want you people to embrace APC, and begin to spread this good news of change, for your own interest.

“If voted into power, APC government at all level will wipe away your tears caused by the PDP so, vote wisely, don’t be deceived by same party that had made life unbearable for you and your family in the last 16 years” Nwoye advised.
