Emir Sanusi Unable to Arrive Palace, Operates from the State House
Featured, News Tuesday, June 10th, 2014The New Emir of Kano, Sarki Lamido Sanusi Lamido despite his coronation and receipt of letter of appointment on Monday, is still unable to occupy the palace and presently operating from a temporary office in Kano Government House. The development, African Examiner learnt is due to insecurity around the palace.
As at this morning, the families and servants of the late Emir, Alhaji Ado Bayero who were promised of relocation to another befitting house by the state Governor, Rabiu Kwakwaso still occupied the palace.
The protesting youths threatened they would not give up until the decision to crown Lamido is reversed by the state Governor.
In contrast, supporters of the newly appointed Emir have held a peaceful demonstration around the ancient city of Kano on Tuesday
