Electric Cable Kills 50-year-Old Woman in Delta

ASABA NIGERIA, (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A 50 year- old woman, identified as Felicia Otor has met her untimely death in Delta state, as she was electrocuted by electricity cable which fell as a result of a blast from a nearby transformer.
African Examiner gathered that the woman before the unfortunate incident was waiting to access the free medical care programme put together by Integrated Logistics Limited (INLOs) at the Atu West II Primary School, Esisi Road, Warri.
The facility was constructed by the administration of the immediate past Governor of the state Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
According to a witness, the woman, who felt so tired after standing for several hours, decided to sit on top of a plank placed across blocks opposite the primary school.
“Shortly after she sat down, the cable directly on top of where she was, fell on her and she died instantly. Said the Source who craved anonymity.
Reacting to the incident, public Relations manager of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, Mrs. Esther Okolie, described the demise of the women as quite unfortunate.
She however, warned residents to always be careful in areas where electric cables passes through whenever there is heavy rain.
