Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, who is also contesting the forthcoming governorship election under the umbrella of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has promised not to witch hunt his political opponents when he returns to office.
Fayose appealed to members of his party to forget about past inadequacies and support his gubernatorial ambition during the party’s primaries to be conducted soon.
Fayose who claimed to have forgiven those who had hands in his impeachment in 2006, said he would work with everybody.
The former governor made the statement in Ado Ekiti on Monday at his campaign office during a meeting with the PDP wards chairmen in the 177 wards across the state.
“I want those who still have it at the back of their minds that Fayose would revenge what they have done to him in the past when he gets to power to forget such.”
He said they should not allow themselves to be misled that he would not be picked by his party, saying he was ever ready to spend just a four year term in office.
He charged the ward chairmen to go back to their different homes and mobilise others for the June 21 governorship election.
