EFCC Quizzes Akpabio Over Alleged N101.8bn Fraud

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday quizzed the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Akpabio is allegedly being investigated over N101.8 billion fraud.

Reports said the Senate Minority Leader was ushered into the EFCC headquarters for interrogation between the hours of 5pm and 6pm alongside his aides and lawyer.

Akpabio’s interrogation borders on allegations of fraud when he was governor of the state between 2007 and 2015, it was gathered.

The former governor has since be released and has returned home.
