The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has established a Micro Finance Bank, which is aimed at alleviating poverty and uplifting the standard of living of its members and the citizenry.
President of ECWA, Prof. Jeremiah Gado who stated this on Wednesday in Jos, at the Dedication/Commissioning of Gowans Micro Finance Bank, said the Church has released sum of N40 millon as takeoff grant for the bank.
His words, “we have over N40 million as takeoff grant for the Gowans Micro Finance Bank.
“The establishment of the bank is a step towards actualizing one of the four point agenda of adopted by ECWA which are to develop and mobilise resources that will reposition ECWA for effective and efficient ministering.
“ECWA’s ministering goals are hampered by lack of Finances. So we are praying that through the Micro Finance Bank, the church will not only fulfill the cultural mandate of the state, which is God commissioning us to empower, to rule, to have dominion, but also in doing so we want to empower the lives of individual members and also reward the investment of the members.
“We are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ not just to take people to heaven, but also to help them live a fulfilled life here on earth. So the Micro Finance Bank is a step towards that.
The ECWA President further stated that, in future as the bank grows, it will establish a fertilizer and cement companies.
