Ebola: Liberia Loses Doctor After Taking Experimental Drug
Ebola News, Latest Headlines, News Monday, August 25th, 2014Liberia has recorded another Ebola casualty as government announced Monday the demise of a medical Doctor, after receiving injection of the experimental virus Zmapp drug.
The Liberian Information Minister, Lewis Brown who disclosed the Doctor’s identity as Abraham Borbor, in a chat with the newsmen in Monrovia, the country’s capital, explained that the late Physician, was seen walking around yesterday (Sunday) giving hope to his doctors of total recovery.
The Minister indicated that another Doctor, Phillip Zokonis Ireland who was isolated with the late former Chief Medical Doctor, had since been tested negative and discharged.
Residents, the Minister pointed out were involved in public sensitization on EVD, adding that a two – day communities workshop has just been concluded, which was meant to educate how to handle the virus and check its outbreak.
He also informed that four out of the protesters who recently stormed the quarantined centre have been confirmed to be infected with Ebola.
