Ebola Experimental Drugs Arrive Nigeria Today As 8 Quarantined People Released
Ebola News, Featured, Latest Headlines, News, Uncategorized Thursday, August 14th, 2014Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu discloses that a Nigerian in diaspora has offered to donate experimental Ebola drug to Nigeria, saying that the drugs will arrive the nation today.
The minister also says that out of the 177 Ebola contacts established and quarantined in Lagos, eight of them have been released as they have exceeded the 21 days gestation period of the disease.
The name of the experimental drug, it was gathered is called ‘Nanosilver’ and will be brought into the country today by the Nigerian scientist, whose name was not given.
The minister stated that only 169 contacts were currently being followed in Lagos now from the 177 it used to be as some of the contacts had been released.
On the Enugu case, Chukwu disclosed that the 21 contacts established had been pruned to six, saying that the nurse in question has not developed Ebola symptom, but added that the nurse and her husband had been brought to Lagos and quarantined with her husband.
