Drunk Nigerian Policeman Shot Ghanaian Dead in Anambra

AWKA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A policeman serving at the Anambra state command who allegedly drank to stupor, has sent a Ghanaian national resident in the state to his untimely grave, as he reportedly shot the foreigner on the neck, leading to his death.
Our Correspondent gathered that the victim, who was simply identified as Andem, was rushed to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital in Awka by sympathisers after the drunk officer shot him on the neck.
A source who craved anonymity for fear of the unknown, said Andem, an electrician, operates an electrical appliance shop at the Aroma axis of Awka, the Anambra state capital before his untimely demise on Wednesday.
According to the Source, the foreigner, met his sudden death after an unknown policeman began to shoot sporadically in the area.
He said the policeman in question is always shooting sporadically with his service pistol each time he visits a beer parlour in the area where he normally drinks to stupor.
He added that the policeman is a drunk “and each time he is intoxicated, he behaves abnormally, and terrorizes the people.
Residents of the area know the policeman because of his useless behaviour the Source stated.
Andem, was however, confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.
Since after the incident happened, the Anambra state police command has not made any statement to that effect.
The state police public Relations officer, PPRO Nkeiruka Nwode, when contacted, said no one has reported the incident to the command.
