Dickson Orders Immediate Salary Payment to Teachers, Civil Servants

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Ministry of Finance has commenced immediate payment of civil servants in the state even in the face of the daunting economic challenges.

This is coming on the heels of the directive by the governor that payment of salaries should commence with immediate effect from today, starting with that of teachers as promised, followed by that of other civil servants.

You would recall that the governor made the declaration during his meeting with principals and vice principals at the DSP Alamieyesigha Banquet Hall on October 5^th, 2016, that apart from the immediate release of the two months salary owed teachers to be at par with other civil servants, teachers would be paid first monthly.

Governor Dickson added that notwithstanding that the Revenue accrued to the state this month is one point five billion naira lesser than that of last month, his administration has resolved to give priority attention to tackling the welfare of civil servants especially in the payment of salaries.

He therefore thanked all civil servants for their show of understanding and urged them to continuously pray for the good will of the state as well as contribute positively to the growth of the state.
