From Mustapha Abdul Salaam – Humiliated and former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku has called on Nigerians to cast their votes for reliable and dependable candidates, saying the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan is the candidate to defeat in the February general elections.
Maku made the call Friday called in his hometown, Wakama, Nasarawa, North Eastern Nigeria, while addressing his supporters who visited him.
In his words, President Jonathan was the best President, Nigeria had ever produced, therefore, should be re – elected.
The former Minister who noted regardless of his challenges with the ruling PDP, insisted Nigerians should vote popular candidates, irrespective of their ethnic or religious roots.
He restated that elections and voting should be taken beyond tribalism and religion sentiments in the 21st century.
The ex Federal Government spokesperson who vowed he would achieve his governorship ambition despite his ordeal in the PDP, counseled Nigerian political leaders, especially the contesting candidates, to desist from being self-centered.
Maku assured he would be not be deterred by the conspiracy of the few, but rather remain focused until his political ambition is realized.
It would be recalled the former Minister was recently defeated in the Nasarawa PDP governorship primary by Yusuf Agabi.
He had since picked up the opposition APGA governorship form and submitted to INEC, so as to contest the February governorship poll.
