Despite Bloodbath, Violence, Killings INEC Declares Wike Winner Of Rivers Guber Poll
Featured, Latest Headlines, Nigeria 2015 Election Monday, April 13th, 2015From Collins Amadi – Despite the bloody violence, which marred the Saturday’s polls and preliminary reports of the observers on many irregularities of the exercise, the Rivers State INEC has gone ahead to declared as the winner, the PDP Candidate, Nyesom Wike.
The Returning Officer, Professor Osaze Obasi announced that Wike recorded 1,029,102 or 87. 7 per cent, as against the APC candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside who he claimed polled 124, 896 votes or 10. 65 per cent of the total valid votes cast.
Following many irregularities, which prominently featured in the exercise, INEC rescheduled election for yesterday (Sunday) in five Local Government areas, including Degema, Akukutoru, Obio/Akpor (Wike’s Council) and two others.
Already, the APC Governorship candidate has petition INEC over the bloody conduct of the Election.
