Cultists On Rampage In Edo, Kill 2 Women , 25-Year-Old Boy
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Thursday, May 7th, 2015FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Benin City – Armed men suspected to be cultists have killed two middle age women and a 25 year old boy during their attack on the residence of some of their targets in Benin city, the Edo State capital.
African Examiner gathered that the latest attack came following a recent call by a youth leader in the state, Mr Tony Adun, Kabaka”, on the state government and House of Assembly to set up a task force to checkmate the unholy activities of cultism in the state.
Adun, had told the executive and legislative arms of government in the state that the last two weeks had witnessed rise in cult related activities in the State.
According to him, at least, about 25 persons have lost their lives so far.
Our Correspondent gathered that the suspected cultist had on Wednesday at about 8pm stormed Virginia Junction by Murtala Muhammed Way, in search of their target, a 25-year-old boy.
A source said the hoodlums numbering about seven had stormed a store belonging to the 25 year old victim, where they met the mother, who told them that he was not around, adding that he has not been seen for the past two weeks.
The gunmen went straight to the boy’s house where he was found and killed.
It was further learnt that after killing their target, the hoodlums went back to the woman’s store and shot her dead.
Same day, another gang alleged to be cultist shot dead another woman suspected to be the mother of one of their targets, at the New Benin area of the state, when they could not find him.
Efforts to speak with the state police public Relations officer, PPRO was unsuccessful, as his mobile phone was unavailable.
