A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to the embattled National Publicity Secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh over allegations of destroying his statement and attempt to swallow it.
While ruling on his bail application, Justice Ishaq Bello ruled that Metuh bail bond attracts the sum of N300 Million. The accused was also asked to produce two sureties in the same sum and each must have properties in Abuja.
Metuh beside the fresh two count charge is also facing another four count charge of money laundering up to the tune of N400 Million. The sum was part of $2.1 Billion arms procurement money to fight the Boko Haram insurgents in the North East zone.
He allegedly received the money from former NSA, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) via a private company on behalf of the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.
Metuh was granted bail Monday when he first appeared in court over the four count charge.
Justice Bello however ordered that Metuh be returned to Kuje prison till his bail conditions are met.
