Justice Gideon Kurada in his ruling Wednesday adjourned the matter so as to enable the prosecution to serve two other accused standing trials with the Shiites leader.
The prosecution counsel, Mr. Chris Umar corroborated the judge in an interview, when he said the shift was to enable his team serve the 3rd and 4th respondents in the charges.
Similarly, the defence Counsel Mr. Maxwell Kyom, confirmed that the other respondents in the charges before the court were yet to be served.
Kyom who declined to mention the names of the 3rd and 4th respondents stated that “the 3rd and 4th respondents are not necessarily in the matter until they have been served”.
He further confirmed that they had filed their bail application to the court and the prosecution had equally filed their response, noting that the submission was late.
“In respect to that, we also applied for a short date to reply the prosecution’s counter affidavit’’ the defence Counsel added.
The Kaduna State Government had filed an eight-count charge against the IMN leader, his wife and two others.
They were all charged over alleged conspiracy, abating culpable homicide among other related offenses.
