Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Friday, June 3rd, 2022(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Ahead of the ruling All progressive Congress presidential primary election, the immediate past Chairman of the Party in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has urged the National Leadership of the party not to allow delegates from the state to vote during the exercise, saying they were illegally produced.
Addressing a press Conference in Enugu on Thursday, Nwoye said the so called Enugu delegates were products of Illegality, and as such are not qualified to participate in the presidential primaries, adding that allowing them would be counter- productive to the party.
According to the APC Chieftain, allowing delegates from Enugu State to vote during the upcoming presidential primary election could give birth to litigations, noting that already, people are in Court challenging the emergence of Ugo Agballah as chairman of APC in the state
The Ex- Enugu APC boss, said his investigations revealed that , there was no election that produced delegates in the state, rather, some people were collecting money to make people illegal delegates.
Nwoye expressed worry over the present state of affairs in Enugu APC, stressing that the party as presently constituted is in coma and near death .
He urged the National Chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdulahi, to as a matter of urgency intervene in the unfortunate situation of APC in Enugu State before it goes into full comatose due to poor handling of its affairs by Agballa.
Nwoye, also condemned in its entirety the recent abuses rained on former governor of the State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, Ex Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu and the PDP governorship Candidate in the State, Barr. Peter Mbah, by Agballa.
Agballa, had during a press conference in Enugu recently called the trio all manner of names, including calling Ex- governor Nnamani, a Terrorist.
The APC Chairman also during the press conference vowed that he will not allow Ekweremadu to join the party, , a statement Nwoye described as laughable, saying that Ekeremadu can be admitted into the APC if he so wishes.
Nwoye also used the media conference opportunity to call on the National Chairman to implement the report of his committee which he said recommended the cancellation of the state Congress of the APC in Enugu.
He disclosed that Adamu made the recommendation when he chaired a Committee that was set up to look into the crisis that rocked the party after its Congress.
The former Chairman equally accused Agballa of creating serious problem in all the eight federal constituencies in the state, as he is trying to manipulate the authentic lists of winners of the primary elections in the areas, even when the results of the elections had been declared by the Chairmen of the various Committees that conducted the exercise.
