The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has begged his colleagues to lobby members of the state Assemblies across 36 states to support state police and Local Government autonomy.
According to Tambuwal who made the plea when he gave notice of the pending voting exercise, said those two issues are dear to the lower chamber as it gets set to vote on clauses being amended from the 1999 constitution and it must not miscarried.
He said that every member of the green chamber should ensure that their state lawmakers were on the same page on those two issues.
The Chairman of the House Constitution Amended Ad Hoc Committee and the Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha read the clause by clause of the section to which the legislators are supposed to cast their vote.
The electronic voting has been activated for the lawmakers to cast their vote. Each clause requires 2/3 majority for the amendment to scale through.
