Confusion In Ekiti Again As APC Lawmakers Prevented From Entering The State
Latest Headlines, News From The State Monday, June 1st, 2015By Akin Soneyin – The lingering crisis between Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose and 19 ruling APC legislators is far from being over, as all entry points into the State, Monday were manned by the security operatives, preventing the estranged lawmakers from gaining access into the South Western State.
Our Correspondent also reported heavy presence of armed policemen in some parts of Ado Ekiti metropolis, the State capital.
There is no explanation yet, as to who directed the latest action.
In the meantime, Governor Fayose is expected to make an address on the shocking development.
It would be recalled Governor Fayose met with the 19 lawmakers led by the substantive Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Omirin. Both parties attested after the peace meeting that all the critical issues have been resolved.
After, the media reports have it last weekend that the legislators’ outstanding salaries and allowances have been paid, but the lawmakers later faulted it. On his own, Governor Fayose insisted all their dues have been paid.
The raging crisis has been on since Governor Fayose’s swearing-in, in October 2014, leaving only 6 PDP legislators screening and confirming the State’s political appointees, including SAs and heads of agencies.
