Confab Rejects Call For Revival Of Nigeria Airways

Delegates at the national conference on Tuesday unanimously rejected call by President Goodluck Jonathan, to revive the moribund Nigeria Airways.
The delegates also rejected a proposal for the establishment of a new national carrier by the government through voice vote.
At the plenary, the report of the Committee on Transportation was put forward for consideration.
The chairman started with a short summary of the report before delegates were invited to speak on the report.
One of the delegates suggested that “in situations of accident and death occurs, the driver should made to pay N10million as punishment for reckless driving”.
After taking contributions from about 80 delegates, the proposed amendments were voted for.
The report of the committee was adopted by the conference, which is now set to move on to another committee
