Coach Hunt: Chelsea To Approach Brighton’s Graham Potter

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Chelsea has been reportedly given permission to talk to the current head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion, Graham Potter, about becoming the new head coach of the club.

It was gathered that Potter had been reassured that if he were to take the Chelsea job, he would be permitted to try to bring the ethos and football structure that both he and the club desired.

Having turned down the chance to talk to other top clubs in recent years, Potter holds that Chelsea offers him the best opportunity to proceed with his coaching career at a world-class club.

Chelsea on Wednesday sacked Thomas Tuchel. This was coming barely 24 hours after the Blues suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat in Tuesday’s Champions League opening match.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the club on its website.

The Premier League team said Chelsea’s coaching staff would take charge of the team for training and the preparation for upcoming matches.

The statement added that the club was working on appointing a new head coach to fill the vacant position.
