Chibok School Girls: Presidential Committee Submits Report, Confirms Abduction
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Friday, June 20th, 2014The Presidential Committee on the over 200 abducted Chibok secondary school girls in Borno state has submitted its report on Friday to President Goodluck Jonathan.
The committee which was headed by Brigadier General (rtd) Ibrahim Sabo confirmed that it was true Boko Haram members stormed the school on April 9, at midnight and abducted over 200 girls.
The report also indicated that over 100 students escaped while the operation was progressing while about 57 have so far escaped from the bush where they were being held hostage.
President Jonathan in his response warned school owners who wish to run boarding to put in place adequate security measures to check insurgency.
Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abos has blacklisted Boko Haram as a terrorist group.
