For the first time since November 2015, when he swore in his Ministers, President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday morning gave his cabinet members, including the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo a shocker and sent a strong warning signal, as he arrived earlier before some of them came for the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The meeting is originally scheduled for 10am, but Mr. President arrived the Council’s Chambers – venue of the meeting around 9.50am.
Those who were already in the Chambers before President Buhari came in included: the newly sworn-in Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal.
On his arrival, the President who seemed a bit surprised, quipped, said he came “too early” for the meeting and immediately called for reading of the National Anthem – which signaled the commencement of the meeting.
Other cabinet members who arrived before 10am included the VP, Prof. Osinbajo; Chief of Staff (COS), Mr. Abba Kyari; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hajia Khadija Bukar; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno and Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.
