ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – If the request in President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter to the National Assembly (NASS) gets the Federal Legislators nod, his Vice, Professor Yemi Osibajo will assume position of the acting President and Commander–in –Chief of Armed Forces in the next 10 days, while he is outside the country.
Indications to this emerged Monday morning, at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, while Mr. President was addressing journalists.
President Buhari, while leaving for London for a medical attention and vacation, confirmed that he has transmitted a letter to NASS informing the Federal lawmakers of his 10-day vacation which is effective from today (Monday).
It would be recalled the President’s aide on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adeshina in a statement some hours ago, confirmed Buhari “will take 10 days off and travel to London on Monday, June 6, 2016, to rest”.
Adeshina informed that during the holiday, President Buhari would see an E.N.T Specialist for a “persistent ear infection”.
He added that the President was examined by his Personal Physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja and was treated.
Both Nigerian doctors he stated recommended further evaluation purely as a “precaution”.
