Buhari Replaces DG of DSS
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Thursday, July 2nd, 2015By Ganiyu Nasirudeen – The Director General of the Department of States Service (DSS), Mr. Ita Ekpeyong has resigned his appointment.
Ekpoyong who was appointed by the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan in 2010 dropped his resignation letter Thursday morning.
The latest development in the security outfit has given an edge to another senior colleague, M. M. Daura as a possible successor to Ekpeyong.
While the former DSS boss is from Akwa Ibom, South South, Lawal Musa Daura is from Katsina, the home State of incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and North Western Nigeria.
There has been infighting recently, with respect to the role and scope of operations of DSS officers posted to the Presidential Villa, FCT Abuja, since President Buhari resumed last week.
