Buhari Pledges To Build A New Nigeria

In his acceptance speech after winning the party’s primaries, Buhari called on Nigerians to support his ambition to render selfless service to the people of the Nigeria, while thanking other aspirants for putting up a good fight, noting that the entire issue was not about winning or losing but salvaging the nation.
Buhari vowed to tackle poverty, power failure and unemployment, saying he was concerned about the future of the nation, saying that designing the future of the nation is the responsibility of all.
“Leaders should fulfill the obligation to the people or it has no business being in government,” he said.
Buhari wondered why the power sector of the economy had refused to click and why several people died while searching for job at the National Immigration Service.
According to him, Nigeria deserved more than what it is getting, saying that he accepts the challenge ahead as his administration was bent on restoring the nation to its former glory in the committee of nations.
“We will build a new Nigeria by instituting new policies and implement the infrastructural master plan for the nation and lay more emphasis on agriculture. “I need the support of all Nigerians to be president of Nigeria to serve you and usher in a new Nigeria,” he said.
Speaking, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar said he would support Buahri’s aspiration to oust President Goodluck Jonahan in next year’s poll.
“Since last night, we have witnessed what I call the most transparent election conducted by any political party in this country. I congratulate the winner. He has been an embodiment of nation bulding and has continued to offer himself for service in this nation. You have been given responsibility of marching this party to victory, I will support you to ensure we have the victory,” he said.
Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso also congratulated Buhari, saying that “whatever happens, we will come together to support this candidate. We will work together for the success of the party.”
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha said in every journey that has a beginning must have an end. “While I congratulate Buhari, I appreciate Atiku. There won’t have been competition if all of us never participated. Buhari will deliver. When one loses on clear term, he is happy. We will support you, to whom much is given, much is expected,” he said.
