Updated: Buhari Seeks Senate Nod To Appoint 15 Advisers
Featured, Latest Headlines Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015Ayodele Afolabi, Abuja – President Mohammadu Buhari has written to the Senate asking for approval to appoint 15 Special Advisers.
Buhari in a letter to President of the Senate, David Mark which was read on the floor of the red chamber on Tuesday said that the appointment will enable him to do his work as the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces.
He said he was relying on Section 151 (1) (2) (3) of the 1999 constitution which requires him to seek the approval of the Senate before making such appointments.
Details of those that have been appointed did not accompany the letter sent to the Senate as Buhari merely sought an omnibus approval.
