Buhari Heads To South Africa For AU Summit
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Friday, June 12th, 2015Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari is billed to leave the country tomorrow to attend the ongoing 25th African Union (AU) Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In a statement issued Friday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adeshina, President Buhari while on the trip will undertake his first continental assignment after assuming office, by chairing the meeting of the Peace and Security Committee of the AU summit Saturday.
The President will also hold number of bilateral meetings that will consolidate his current drive to secure Nigeria and the neighboring countries from Boko Haram.The theme of this year’s AU Summit is on security.
President Buhari will return to Nigeria Tuesday, June 16.
