Buhari Finally Relocates To Aso Rock
Featured, Latest Headlines Sunday, June 21st, 2015By Ayo Balogun, Lagos – About three weeks after his inauguration, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has finally moved into Aso Presidential villa, the official residence of the Nigerian President.
The Presidency had earlier told Nigerians that the president was unable to operate from Aso Rock following ongoing renovations of the complex.
The president has thus been operating from Defence House, Maitama since his inauguration, a situation that presidential sources claimed had slowed down the activities of the government.
Reports say the president moved into the seat of power on Sunday evening to join his wife, Aisha Buhari who had moved in since Thursday.
Following the president’s relocation, he will be operating from the official office of the president on Monday for the first since the May 29 inauguration, as Nigerians expect him, in few days, to appoint key aides and nominate cabinet members.
