ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has descended very heavily on members of the National Assembly (NASS), saying the raging row on alleged budget padding is a vindication of his position that the lawmakers lack integrity.

Obasanjo threw the salvos Monday afternoon, in Abuja while fielding questions from the journalists, after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa.

The former President reiterated that the ongoing altercation among the Leadership of the House was a confirmation of his previous submission that many of the Nigerian Lawmakers are “robbers” and “rogues”.

He maintained that he had said this before and the raging controversy has justified his position.

While calling for election of men of integrity into the NASS, the former Head of State also urged President Buhari to be very vigilant of the activities of the NASS members.

Obasanjo while commenting on purpose of his another visit to the Aso Villa indicated that he came to deliver messages of his recent trips to Liberia, Gambia and Seychelles Island.
