Mark’s announcement followed a foiled attempt by men of Department of State Security (DSS) to stop the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, from gaining entrance into the National Assembly complex.
AFRICAN EXAMINER Correspondent reported that the eventual success of Tambuwal and his convoy with the support of their colleagues who engaged the security operatives, which occasioned confusion and pandemonium, might have prompted the order.
Besides, Senator Mark, who belongs to the ruling PDP was shocked and taken by surprise the way situation played out.
The police, shot tear gas, making the lawmakers, their aides and others scamper for safety.
Consequently, Senator Mark who reportedly visited Hon Tambuwal after gaining access to the lower chamber after the closure announcement, equally adjourned sittings of the two chambers till Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
