Latest Headlines, News, Sports News Thursday, July 24th, 2014Less than a week after the lift of ban by FIFA, the embattled President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari, has been sacked.
His impeachment in Abuja on Thursday was hinged on financial misappropriation and poor administration at a meeting of the body Executive Committee.
Our Abuja Correspondent gathered that a communique signed by a board member, Muazu Suleyman revealed that the crucial meeting reviewed situation after the vacation of Court injunction and last Thursday ban suspension by the world football body – FIFA.
The statement indicated that the committee after critically looked at and assessed the activities of Maigari was unsatisfied, therefore resolved to show the former glass house boss the way out.
In the main time, the Executive Committee agreed to announce the first Vice President, Mike Okeke Umeh to replace Maigari in Acting capacity and mandated him to preside over the affairs of the Federation, pending the constitution of the new Executive Committee during election slated for August 26 this year.
Former NFF President Maigari’s travailed came to public glare when he was quizzed by the security operatives in Abuja for questioning on alleged financial recklessness, on return trip from last world Cup held in Brazil.
