BREAKING NEWS: Supreme Court Upholds Governor Ikpeazu, Udom’s Election
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state.
The Apex Court held that Governor Udom of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was duly elected as governor of Akwa-Ibom state.
Consequently, the Court set aside the rulings of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
Also, the court said reasons for the verdict would be given on February 15.
Also, ruling on Abia governorship election, the Apex court also affirmed the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the People’s Democratic Party as the duly elected Governor of Abia state.
Governor Ikpeazu defeated Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the April 11, 2015 governorship election.
