The outgoing deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu PDP-Enugu) has retained his position as he has just been elected the deputy senate president of the senate.
Ekewremadu won with 54 votes to defeat his rival Senator Ali Ndume who polled 20 votes.
However, out going senate president David Mak emerged as senate leader.
