Jimi Agbaje Defeats Obanikoro to Win Lagos PDP Governorship Ticket

Reports from Lagos indicate that Mr. Jimi Agbaje has clinched the governorship ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Agbaje defeated his arch-rival Former minister state for defense, Mr Musiliu Obanikoro.

He polled 432 votes out of the 836 votes cast, while Mr Musiliu Obanikoro got 346 votes. Deji Doherty got 21 votes to finish third.

Earlier in the day,  the venue of the primaries had erupted in gun battle between supporters of Mr Agbaje and Obanokoro.

Reacting to his victory, Mr Agbaje said, “my first assignment is to get my co-aspirants on board.”
