BREAKING News: Embattled PDP Chairman Mu’azu Finally Resigns
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Wednesday, May 20th, 2015By Abdul Gafar Bello – After weeks of controversies, the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu has finally thrown in the towel as he has just resigned his appointment.
The decision was made public as the meeting of National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, is still ongoing in the Wadata House – the National secretariat of the PDP which has been in power for almost 16 years.
There has been accusations and counter, with respect to factors that worked against the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat at the recent general elections in Nigeria. Mu’azu has been alleged to be the main culprit and has since remained the target of the looming shakeup in the party NWC.
Mu’azu last week extended olive hands to all the warring members of the PDP and called for unity to pave way for stability in the party and prepare it for the 2019 general elections.
Indications have emerged earlier Wednesday that the ongoing meeting at the Party’s secretariat, might ratify Mu’azu sack, hence his early resignation might be an attempt to preempt the outcome and rubbish the imminent ousting.
Meanwhile, Mu’azu’s Deputy Prince Uche Secondus is expected to take over after his former boss’s exit.
