Breaking News: At Last, Tukur Resigns As PDP Chairman

The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has finally resigned as chairman of the troubled party.
African Examiner gathered that the 37 State Chairman of the party had on Tuesday after a marathon meeting passed a vote of no confidence on Turkur and went to brief President Goodluck Jonathan on the outcome of their meeting.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP had been seriously divided over the leadership of Tukur and had called for his resignation for sometimes now.
Sensing danger in the air, Tukur was said to have resigned from his position as the National Chairman of the PDP on Wednesday and avoided being suspended by the NWC of the party.
Tukur had been suspended by about eight members of the NWC, while the National Executive Committee (NEC) is expected to meet on Thursday to ratify the suspension, but Tukur has quickly resigned to avoid such embarrassment.
It was gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan has been briefed about the matter and would officially disclosed it to national caucus of the party today.
Under the leadership of Tukur, thousands of PDP members have decamped from the party and moved en-masse to the All Progresssive Congress (APC).
