BREAKING: Kogi Guber Poll Declared Inconclusive

By Abdul Gaffar Bello

The Kogi Governorship Election held yesterday, has been declared inconclusive by the INEC Returning Officer.

While speaking at the INEC head office in Lokoja, the State capital Sunday evening, the Returning Officer explained that the decision was arrived at, as it was discovered that the difference in the total number of votes polled by the two leading candidates – Prince Abubakar Audu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent Governor Idris Wada was far less than the total number of votes cancelled either due to ballot stuffing; ballot snatching and over voting in some wards and units of some local Government areas of the State.

Kogi State has a total number of 1.3 Million registered voters.

The implication of this is that, INEC is expected to conduct a supplementary poll.

The result announced so far, but yet to be declared, indicated that Audu is leading with 240, 867 votes as against Wada who recorded 199, 514 votes.
