BREAKING: Fire Guts INEC Headquarters In Enugu

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Barely two days after a mid-night fire disaster gutted the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Obollo Afor, Udenu Council area of Enugu state, its headquarters in Enugu was on Sunday Razed by fire.
As at the time of filling this report, men of the Enugu state fire Service were still battling to extinguish the inferno which has affected parts of the building.
The affected INEC office is located at Independence Layout area of the state capital.
Effort by our correspondent to speak with the Enugu State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Emeka Ononamadu, was unsuccessful as his mobile phone was switched off.
However, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Mohammed Aliyu, confirmed the incident.
The commissioner, who did not respond to further questions, said that he was still at the scene of the incident to save the office from the further damage.
