After Justice Adeniyi Ademola’s ruling Wednesday morning, the immediate past Acting Governor of Adamawa, Ahmadu Finitri has finally bowed out, giving way for the victorious former Deputy Governor, Bala Ngilari to be sworn in as the new substantive Governor.
Ngilari was sworn in this evening by the Acting state Chief Judge, Justice Ambrose Mammadi.
The ceremony drew frenzy jubilation in Yola, the state capital, by Ngilari’s supporters who have been anxiously waiting immediately after the judgement in FCT Abuja.
The latest development, regardless of Finitri’s appeal has altered planned state bye-election, slated for this weekend – Saturday, October 11, 2014.
It will be recalled the new Governor, resigned his position, July 15, following the imminent impeachment by the state House of Assembly on his former boss and Governor, Muritala Nyako.
Justice Ademola in line with Ngilari prayers, held that his resignation was illegal, null and void, hence the order to Finiitri to vacate and he, be sworn in as the Substantive Governor.
