Agbonavbare, who was former safe hands of the Rayo Vallecano football club between 1990 and 1996, died at the age of 48, Tuesday morning from cancer related ailment, at the Príncipe de Asturias Hospital in Alcalá de Henares near Madrid.
He was part of the 1994 Super Eagles squad to African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, as a substitute to the number one goal keeper, Peter Rufai. Similarly, he took part the same year, in the USA World Cup in the same capacity.
The former Goalkeeper started his football career at the New Nigeria Bank and proceeded to Brentford FC in England.
