ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Strong indication that there is a major crack within the Leadership of House emerged Wednesday as the Speaker Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara sacked the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation Hon Abdul Mumin Jibrin.
Hon.Jibrin is a strong ally of Dogara and played a strong role in routing support for, and his subsequent election last year as the Speaker, a development which was against the interest of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Leadership, which preferred Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Kano APC Lawmaker’s offence has been linked to the roles he and his Senate’s colleague, Senator Danjuma Goje played in fine tunning of the controversial 2016 Appropriation Bill.
It would be recalled while the National Assembly (NASS) was pushing for President Muhammadu Buhari’s assent on the budget without capturing some key aspects of his electoral campaign promises, both Jibrin and Goje aligned with the Presidency, regarding the need to recall and e-work the bill before Mr. President assent it into law.
Meanwhile, Hon. Jibrin has been replaced with Hon. Mustapha Dawakin also from Kano State
