BREAKING: Court Orders INEC To Halt Collation Of Bauchi Gov Poll Results
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Tuesday, March 19th, 2019ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop its planned resumption of collation of the Governorship election result in Bauchi State.
Justice Ekwo Ejembi gave the order Tuesday while ruling on a suit filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and State Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State.
The Governor has insisted that the INEC supposed to have declared him the winner of the Saturday March 9, 2019 Governorship election, instead of declaring the exercise inconclusive about two days later.
INEC is however conducting supplementary elections in some polling units and Local Governments in Adamawa; Bauchi; Benue; Plateau and Sokoto States this Saturday – March 23.
