BREAKING: Abuja Court Sends Metuh To Kuje Prison

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – National Publicity Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh has been sent to Kuje Prison by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja in connection with the $2.1 billion arms scandal.
Justice Abang Okon on resumption of sitting on Friday said said Metuh should be remanded in the prison till January 19 when the case would be heard.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had today arraigned Metuh before the court on seven count charges of breach of public trust, corrupt acquisition of public funds and money laundering.
The charges against Metuh had it that he transferred $1 million through his agent, Nneka Nicole Ararume, to one Sie Iyenome of Capital Field Investment, committing an offense contrary to Section One of the Money Laundering Act.
The PDP scribe had been in EFCC’s custody for over a week as he was alleged to have received N400 million from the office of National Security Adviser.
Metuh and other bigwigs in the PDP have been enmeshed in corruption over the sharing over the $2.1 billion monies meant to tackle the menace of Boko Haram in the country.
