Boko Haram: Over 6000 Islamic Clerics Gather in Bauchi for National Prayers

Following the security and political challenges bedeviling the country the Bauchi State Government and the Center for Islamic Culture Population and Development have gathered over 6000 Islamic clerics across the country in Bauchi for a three day National Prayer.
At commencement of the event, the Coordinator of the Prayer session, Imam Ibrahim Tahir Usman, told journalists that prayer is the only weapon to overcome all forms of socio-economic and security challenges bedeviling the nation.
According to him, the Prayer session will feature thousands of recitation of 60 hizb of the Holy Qur’an by participants to pray to Allah for forgiveness of sins and to protect and unite the country.
The Cleric advised Nigerians to repent from their sins and pray for leaders to govern the citizenry with fairness and justice, for the development of the country.
Usman, further stated that the prayer session is attended by qur’anic memorisers and reciters from all over the country and assured that the event would be organised in all the six geo political zones on a quarterly basis.
