Biafra: Court Rules On Kanu, Others’ Bail Applications Friday

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed Friday, January 29, 2016 for hearing and ruling on the bail application filed by the Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Justice James Tsoho gave the ruling Monday after the plead and counter, by the defence and prosecution Counsels for and against the bail application.
Kanu and two other suspects, Messrs Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi are standing trial on treason for running an illegal radio as well as staging unlawful protest.
After Monday ruling, Justice Tsoho ordered Kanu and two other suspects be remanded in Kuje Prison till Friday, when the ruling proper on their bail applications will hold.
It would be recalled similar ruling was made January 20, 2016 when the Judge ordered the DSS to release Kanu and his co – accused, but be remanded in prison.
Kanu was arrested by DSS in a Lagos Hotel on October 14, 2015.
