Bayelsa PDP Crisis Escalates As SWC Slams Suspension On State Chairman
Latest Headlines, News Monday, February 23rd, 2015FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Yenagoa – The leadership feud currently rocking the Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has worsened, following the suspension of the state Chairman of the party, Sam Inokoba by the State Working Committee SWC.
Our Correspondent gathered that different factions are beginning to emerge in the state PDP
While some factions are supporting the sanctioning of the Chairman for an alleged N40m fraud, other faction says those behind the suspension of the chairman does not have the interest of the party but playing the script of some persons in authority.
The SWC members that suspended the Chairman were not happy about the delay in response from the National Working Committee and have threatened to take action, alleging conspiracy in the Presidency.
Meanwhile, Another group known as “the Aboriginal PDP in Bayelsa State”made up of founding fathers of the party in the area, such as former political office holders, past and current state executive committee members has debunked the purported threat issued by the other group describing it as baseless.
