Bayelsa: INEC Sets For Rescheduled Election In Southern Ijaw

The Baritor Kpagih (REC) led Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Bayelsa state, have concluded every arrangement for the conduct of the re-scheduled election in parts of Southern Ijaw Council area of the state today sunday, 6th December 2015.
AFRICAN EXAMINER reports that the governorship election held in the state on saturday, 5th, could not take place in parts of the local government area, following some skirmishes that erupted in some communities in the locality.
The pockets of violence and rumour of threat by political thugs alleged to be working for a political party in the election, made INEC officials deployed to the troubled areas to make a u- turn.
However, following the development, enough security operatives have been deployed to the affected areas ahead of the rescheduled poll expected to commence by 8am this morning.
Meanwhile, counting of results of the other seven council areas is still ongoing.
