The peoples Democratic party PDP candidate in the ongoing Bayelsa state governorship election, and Governor of the state, Seriaki Dickson, is cruising to victory winning of Ogbia council area.
Result of the local government council was just announced few minutes ago by the returning officer for the locality, Dr. Evan Eze of Federal university Otueke.
With the development, Dickson has so far won 6 out of the 7 council areas so far announced by the electoral officers for the poll.
The PDP candidate, garnered a total of 13,051 votes to defeat his closest rival, and ex- governor of the state, Timipriye Silva of the All Progressive Congress, APC who polled 9,106 votes in the local government area, where the immediate past Nigerian president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan hails from.
In Nembe local government, Dickson polled 10,768 votes while APC’s Sylva polled 6,974 votes.
Meanwhile, results from the troubled Southern Ijaw local government are still being awaited for.
