Bayelsa APC Disciplines Nine Members Over Misconducts
Latest Headlines, News, Politics Monday, June 15th, 2015By Collins Amadi – The Bayelsa State’s chapter of the ruling APC has announced different punitive measures, including expulsion and suspension against nine of its members.
The State’s Secretary, Mr. Marlin Daniel disclosed this Monday at a press Conference in Yenagoa, the State’s capital.
According to the Scribe, while Godwin Sidi, Fred Akamu, Rosemary Okeazi, Chief Livinus Opratapu, Harrow Zuokumo, Enoch Koripamo, and Christopher Abariowei, were suspended, Chief Perekeme Kpodo and Sunday Oputu were expelled.
Daniel stated that Kpodo was punished for saying the ruling party was dead on arrival in the State.
He equally explained that Oputu has not been part of the APC, yet surprised that of recent, he and Kpodo have been calling party meetings, in the capacity, not yet clear to the state’s APC hierarchy.
He alleged that the expelled members have also recruited others who are not APC members and have been holding meetings in Richard Kpodo’s hotel, where money were shared.
The State’s APC Secretary specified that there was no quarrel among the members adding that members of the party still have confidence in the Tiwei Orunimighe-led State EXCO.
